MaHRC Research Trajectories
The original 5 research spheres for MaHRC were excellent introductory platforms to establish the appropriate visibility and connectivity for MaHRC in the research community. They served well to attract other research units and many researchers from diverse backgrounds to agree to collaborate and become affiliates. As research commenced and has progressed, new research requests came to MaHRC, and new expertise was added, the research agenda has become an evolutionary process dynamically shaping out original ideas with new directions. The current trajectories presented below are a result of this dynamic process, combining and molding elements of the original spheres with new research elements.
Research at MaHRC unfolds in 5 inter-related research trajectories:
- Basic Neuroscience of Music Perception, Cognition, and Performance
- Music in Medicine, Rehabilitation and Therapy
- Performing Arts Medicine – Musician Health
- Music Learning Across the Age Spectrum
- Music, Culture, and Biology
